Had a very dirty-minded crush on John Cusack back in the day, before he got super-earnest (even though I agree with his politics, he seems very humorless now). Jake G. is adorable, but I definitely think he counts as leading man handsome, even in the terrific Donnie Darko. Ha Ha! I love this! I AGREE!!! The strange, interesting, unique, bring-something-to-the-table kind of guys are WAY hotter than the obvious choices. Here is some very unconventional hotties to me:
-Jeff Goldblum: super nerd AND super creepy, not to mention MASSIVE ears= is HOT
-Viggo Mortensen: yes, many find him attractive as well, and he is a major player, but he does very interesting movies, and plays unique characters. He also seems (by interviews) pretty awesome
-Phillip Seymour Hoffman: AMAZING actor, weird and interesting characters, and super cuddly=hot. Not to mention, a natural blonde...rare!
-James Carville: SMART, HILARIOUS, and outspoken, and usually right. I'm also sure his wife loves his VERY BALD head. Smart people in politics=hot
-Art Alexakis from Everclear: Skinny, hollow eyes normally don't get me excited but he is a BRILLIANT music artist, nerdy, smart, kind, and fights for a good cause (and no, not like in a BONO kind of way, but in a way that is incredibly honest and no one knows about)
