Omigoodness... Politics- A Rebuttal

Okay, so my last blog I wrote, I would hope that everyone realizes, first and foremost, that my blog is meant to be a FUNNY blog. I write about poop, woodchucks, and My So-Called Life. I am by no means a political expert. I am not, and don't try to be. So when I read this, I was.... shocked to say the least. So I just have a few things to say.

First of all I am pro-choice, partially because I am a realist. I know that abortions are going to happen, legally or illegally, and I think it is important to protect the CHOICE and health and safety of Women who, for various circumstances or reasons may choose to have an abortion.

I don't support partial birth abortion, however. Neither does Obama: "On an issue like partial birth abortion, I strongly believe that the state can properly restrict late-term abortions. I have said so repeatedly. All I've said is we should have a provision to protect the health of the mother, and many of the bills that came before me didn't have that."

Also quoted from this article:
"In 1997, Obama voted against SB 230, which would have turned doctors into felons by banning so-called partial-birth abortion, & against a 2000 bill banning state funding. Although these bills included an exception to save the life of the mother, they didn't include anything about abortions necessary to protect the health of the mother. The legislation defined a fetus as a person, & could have criminalized virtually all abortion."

And also what I said was the truth, Obama is a family man. He has young children. His stance on abortion, whatever that may be, DOES NOT change this fact. He is hardworking, I honestly don't think either candidate is NOT hardworking. McCain is also 72, which would make him the oldest president ever, and he is okay not a billionaire, but a millionaire many times over.

And you know what? It was a joke post. I am not an expert. I don't think anyone should take everything I say seriously. If someone actually decided to vote Obama because of my silly joke and picture of Mr. Burns, I would consider them an a$$hole. Sometimes the whole picture is not displayed on EITHER candidate, and you have to seek out the truth. That is up to YOU. What is up to me is to do what I want on my blog. I think it is my right as an American to ask ANY question I wish of myself and others in this historic election. It's my opinion, however silly, and my blog, and that's that.

I was trying to stay on the issues, and NOT the candidate's personal life but I can't help but link you to this.

Okay, now back to the funny....

  4. One of the things I absolutely adore about Obama* is that he is one of the few, few politicians who didn't come from a super rich family and a long line of politicians. He came from a single parent household and he understands the plight of the working class. Most of these people are so far from that demographic, I mean, Bush doesn't even know how much gas costs and McCain doesn't know how many houses he has and these people are making rules about my life. Pshaw.

*and I'm not a die-hard like some of these kiddos but I do enjoy him and will definitely be voting for him.
