Okay then... another Saturday morning while Shaun is at work.
Love that Shaun works in the automotive industry. On that note, I cannot believe that congress destroyed the hopes for a bailout, I'm hoping that this will still happen. Shaun has been told that his plant will close for the month of January. This means that he will be using all available comp time (just to give you an idea he has worked 65 hours last week and almost 70 this week) and probably working in a plant in Tenessee for a week. We are lucky he is a salaried employee and a supervisor, otherwise he would be laid off for this month. I will tell you what (soapbox time, watch out) people that make fun of or complain about the Big 3 automakers don't really understand what this is doing to people in Michigan. NO ONE I know that lives in Michigan is not affected by this in some way, shape or form, and the trickle down effect of their demise will be felt by ALL middle class Americans. Yes they made mistakes, and the CEOs of these companies made millions making mistakes. These are not the mistakes of the average working man, and they are the ones that are going to pay for these mistakes, not the CEOs. (Okay I am off the soapbox).
Okay now back to the round up:
Drew is obsessed with Pumpkin cereal bars. He thinks they exist. Does anybody know where to buy such a thing?
I picked out our Christmas card. For those keeping track it was a close race between B and D. Want to know? Check back on Christmas Day when I post the card! I will say this, the deciding vote was from Drew and Jacob's Nana.
Jacob is moving from Mobile Infants room to the Toddler room at Childcare. More about that later.

Life is Tough
Well, I have wanted to write for a while, but truthfully I haven't had the energy. I have gone back to work and it is the hardest thing I have ever done. I will write more about it, but, being the sleep deprived moron I am, I broke my finger and thus cannot type very well.
I am exhausted. Physically, mentally and emotionally. I have no time for myself, the only reason I can write this is because I stayed home with the kids because Jacob is sick (again) and there is a blizzard outside.
I will go over the basics though of the things I have wanted to blog about....
Drew turned 3 on January 27. He is a big boy now, although he has been lax in his potty training lately.
Jacob is sick all of the time.
They changed my job title at work, but have yet to really inform me of what that means. I am a Project Associate now. Um... ok.
I am breastfeeding still and it is miserable. Not the feeding but the pumping. I pump in my cubicle. Yes, I do.
I have barely lost any pregnancy weight. It is sad, but I have no time and have been stressed so I am making poor eating decisions.
Jacob is not sleeping through the night at all anymore- what happened?
Oh yeah, breaking my finger. It really sucks to break your finger when you have a newborn and toddler and are working full-time.
What a downer of a blog huh? I have nothing positive to say except that I still love my children and husband. So I will leave you with a cute picture to make it all better.

I am SOOO glad I am going back to work...
Today Drew was not feeling well. He woke up in the middle of the night crying, and this morning he puked up bile on my leg (fun!). So I have both boys alone today, again. How am I writing this, you may ask? Well, because somehow I got them both to take naps at the same time. I know, anyone who knows Drew knows this is as close to a miracle as you get. Before you start applauding me, let me tell you- I am not proud how I accomplished this feat. I put Drew in his room, kicking and screaming, put a pillow and comforter by the door, and shut it. He eventually (read 10 min of crying) fell asleep. I know, I am an awful Mom, but the boy needed rest! Just like he needs vegetables which he refuses to eat. If I didn't force these things he would die of scurvy and sleep deprivation. It again confirmed what I already know:
- I am glad I am going back to work
- A 2 year old is more work than a newborn
- Drew is more work than many 2 year olds
- I am unable to function with 2 children on 2 hours sleep
- I know why stay at home Moms of 2 stay so thin, there's never time to eat.
- I need a vacation
So I must say, bravo, stay at home parents of more than one child. You rock.

The Funny things kids learn in Childcare....
Or "Why I love my son's childcare". We were driving to "school" and suddenly Drew began counting from 1-10 in SPANISH. Yes, he can count in Spanish as well as he can count in English, probably better because in English he skips the 8. Unless he's been secretly sneaking out of his room at night to watch Dora the Explorer or the male counterpart Diego, he has learned this in childcare. Of course then he proceeded to try and play peekaboo with Mommy while I drove, so apparently they haven't covered Driver safety yet!

The Great Childcare Debate
So on top of all the decisions I have made in the past year (just to recap, for those not informed, my husband lost his job, got a new job an hour and a half away in Plymouth, began commuting, we tried to sell our house for 6 months, I transferred to Brighton, an hour away, had a change of heart, took a leap of faith with a temp job which turned into a permanent job and a complete career change in Lansing, we had to put our wonderful golden retriever, Autumn, to sleep, we decided to try for another child and poof! I was a pregnant a minute later, my husband's Plant closed (again!) and he was transferred to Lansing, we decided to move, then decided it was too much work this late in my pregnancy, and then decided instead to rearrange our house and fix it up instead, and then a position opened up at work that I wanted more, but I decided to give myself a break already and stick with the job I have and yes, this has all happened in the span of 12 months) you would think that the decision to change childcare would not be the most difficult.
Yet, it brings me to tears, the thought of making Drew go to another childcare. I LOVE my childcare center. They treat Drew like a little prince, and everyone knows his name. Of course it does help that my sister is their boss, but still, I think they are really attached to him, and he to them. I don't want to pull him away from his (and truth be told, our) comfort zone. The thing about this childcare is that there is a reason I love it so much- it is much more expensive than the other childcare's in the area, and with one more enrolled, I'll probably only take home enough money to cover the gas to get to work. Don't get me wrong, the other childcare centers that I visited were lovely, but they were not home. Drew spends more time awake at childcare than at home, I definitely want to make the right decision for us. So I made what some would consider a silly decision.... I accepted my Mom's help to cover the discrepancies between the two. Some might say this is a cop out- I would agree. It was not my idea, I never asked for it and she offered. I figure, at least to make myself feel better, If she babysat for my children, as so many moms I know have that option, it would be much more of a burden for them. I've also learned in the 2 1/2 years of having Drew, it is OK to accept help and handouts. So that's my decision, and I'm sticking to it. I think that is the last one I will have to make for a least, I don't know, a week or two??

To be a kid....
I am absolutely so jealous. I dropped Drew off at school, and they had a big tub of bubbles and water that they were playing in with water toys and boats. I definitely wanted to play in the bubbles too. But no, I said bye and gave him a kiss and headed off to work.
