Can astronauts get cabin fever? I don't know, but the Bees sure can!
To say that this has been a rough weekend would be an understatement. Drew was the most challenging he has been in a while, and believe me, he is a challenge anyway. We did a lot of Tag-Team Parenting. Anyone unfamiliar with this term (unless I am completely making it up, though I somehow doubt it), it means that the moment one of us starts to "lose it" with Drew, the other one steps in and takes over. This can happen 3 or 4 times per incident. Drew did not take any naps this weekend, even though he was up early... no vegetables... (we did manage to get a bite of carrot down his throat without him puking and gagging), and copius amounts of whining, combined with two potty "accidents" that seemed to be more "on purposes". It was one for the record books.
I think most of the issues came from the fact that we all just feel cooped up in this small house, we just can't escape one another, and darn it if we aren't all on each other's last nerve. I am really lucky that I went out with friends for dinner, and then saw a matinee on Sunday (Twilight, again). I needed the time away for perspective, so I didn't tear my hair out (which I literally almost did a couple of times Saturday afternoon). My friends help me forget all my worries, and believe me, there are a plenty of worries lately.
Sorry this post is so BORING, I just don't have it in me to be witty or funny right now. Too exhausted. Ah well, tomorrow is another day... just glad we made it through.
Parenting little ones can drain you. As parents you love them to the ends of the earth but that doesn't mean that there are not going to be moments of "who's idea was it to have kids?" That was always the question we would throw out to each other that was the signal of HELP!!!
ReplyDeleteSo, totally understand that at times, witty is not what you will be, you need to de-stress by writing your frustrations down. That is why I warn on my blog you will find 'venting'. Sorry, but it is how I get through life. I find I am a happier person by not keeping it bottled up.
Hope tomorrow is a better day!
I was telling a friend that yesterday I wanted to throw them out the window - on the way to my in-laws house the kids were whining that i opened ones' window a centimeter more than the others window!
ReplyDeleteIf you have to have cabin fever, best to make that cabin out of Lincoln Logs!
ReplyDeleteSo not a boring post...you got me nodding my head in complete understanding. I believe we did this several times last night.
ReplyDeleteHang in there Mama!
Happy Monday. Im jealous you saw Twilight again!
ReplyDeleteahhh.... but your family is just so darn cute! I'll trade you for an afternoon, then you'll feel better. Promise.
ReplyDeleteI completely understand!!! How was Twilight the second time around? :)
