Newest Addition to the Bee Family...

Mr. Bee and Drew went to the pet store this weekend and returned with a new family member. Don't get too excited, it's just a Fish. Drew named him "Sharky" after Mr. Bee kindly informed him that the name "Daddy" was taken. (Geez, be a little fussypants Mr. Bee.)

Drew was excited, and now is, of course, meh about it. I am quite fond of Sharky already. He seems to be fitting in with the Bee family just fine. But, honestly...

Aren't I a little young to have a grandfish?
Maybe I'll make Sharky call me "Mimi Bee" or something.

I know you all think I'm jerk for the buildup. And I'm sorry if you were disappointed. I was hoping they would come home with something more exciting too. Unfortunately you cannot purchase a Llama for 10$ (the budget).

  1. Well, I was expecting at least a dog or something!!!!

I've had two betta fish over the years ... great choice as they are pretty low maintenance. But I'll warn you now ... both of mine died within 6 months so get ready for "Sharky" to visit the "Great Ocean Beyond" sooner than you may think!

Of course, you can just replace them fairly cheap if you want to avoid tears and trauma if Sharky becomes a intregal part of the family.

  3. Call me traditional. I was thinking dog or cat, although with two little ones, starting with a fish was the way to go!!!

  5. Congrats on the new addition to the family. Though, like most of the others I was assuming you had gotten some kind of hairy creature. I love Beta's! The only fish I cannot kill.

  6. I had a beta named Sappfire when I was little. The only problem was I didn't contemplate that it couldn't come out of the water to play!
