It's Friday Favorites time! Oh yes it's time to pay homage to all the things that got us through the week, and give credit where credit is due! Here are my Friday Favorites this week....
Weather. Two 80 degree days in a row! Has Spring finally Sprung in Michigan?
Chuck- TV Series. Please don't let this get canceled, I think Mr. Bee would cry!
My Drew and Mommy Date Day. It was a rousing success.
Jacob eating ice cream. Jacob tried ice cream for the first time Thursday night. It was hilarious. He would eat it and then shake his head from the cold rush, squeal, giggle and then ask for more. I will have to get video of it next time, we were at a restaurant this time, otherwise I would have. It is seriously the cutest thing I have ever seen. That boy is an ice cream junkie now. We had to cut him off last night.
Being there for my friends. My friend M texted me on Wednesday. Let's do something tonight. I need to get the F#@* out.
I was so tired. I called her back. "I don't think I can," I told her reluctantly.
"Oh, that's okay," she said, or at least I think she said that... it was hard to hear her over the screaming kids in the background. M has 3 kids under 3, and her 9 month old twin boys were teething.
After I hung up with her I thought about all the times I was losing my mind the year that Drew was born (he could be a tough baby sometimes) and she went out with me, no matter what. If I was frustrated she was THERE for me.
I called her back. "Let's do something," I said, and I heard the lift in her voice when she said okay.
We went out to dinner and had a few drinks. It was a lot of fun, and she was so happy to get out of the house. I love that I was able to do that for her, and I had fun too, even if I was dragging ass on Thursday.
Okay all- now tell me- what are your faves? You can blog some FF's and then link back if you so choose, or leave them in the comments!
Sounds like a good week. Kids an ice cream, too cute.
ReplyDeleteFriendships are sooo important and it sounds like you really boosted your friend up!
What a wonderful way to be there for her. I think it's important that we remember to help out our mommy girlfriends...in the end, it helps us too. Thankfully we have good, generous hubbies to encourage it, huh?
ReplyDeletesounds like a GREAT week!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSounds like a great week. I think my friday fav is being able to spend at least an hour or so each day outside. Nothing like letting the kids run, jump, scream, and play where the walls don't hold them in.
ReplyDeleteOh yes, and being able to steal my girls' laptop
We made the mistake of getting an ice cream machine the other day. Needless to say, it's been daily ice cream. Jacob would love it here!!
ReplyDeleteThat was so nice you took your friend out! I can imagine how worn out she was. How sweet of you to do that!
ReplyDeleteI have never seen Chuck. I should give it a try! Thatnks for visiting my blog. I love yours.
ReplyDeleteYesterday, I did not want to take my daughter to dance...I was exhausted dealing with my husband's health crisis, etc...but I forced myself to go and once there had some great conversation and laughs with my mommy friends. Sometimes you just have to make yourself get out there! It worked for me:)
ReplyDeleteI bet you sharing your time with your friend made a huge difference for her! You rock!
I will be devastated if Chuck is cancelled! I love that show!
My current favorites?
ReplyDeleteIce Cream.
Nice Weather.
Old Friends.
School Breaks.
Gym Time.
And did I mention ice cream?
There is a rumor that Chuck might get canceled? Say it isn't so! This is a favorite for both Thuy and me. Monday nights would lose all meaning for us if Chuck leaves the airways.
